  I was a loyal customer at the store for at least three or four years. One day I walked in there to pick up a prescription and the assistant manager is standing at the door waiting for me. I say hello as I usually do and begin to walk toward the pharmacy when he stops me. Although he knew me, he asked me my name. I looked at him curiously, as if he were making a joke, but he had this dead serious look on his face. So I told him my name and he said to me; 'I'm sorry but I can't allow you in the store.' Once again, thinking this was a joke, I smiled and said 'why, is there a fire or something going on?' To which he replied, no I'm serious, we received a letter from our corporate office saying you're not allowed in here anymore - as a matter of fact, I'm going to have to ask you to not only leave the store, but to leave the property entirely. I was in shock and disbelief, but I complied with his request. As we walked out the door together he apologized for having to do this, but said it was beyond his control. If he didn't do what the corporate office had directed him, he could lose his job. It was at that point I asked, 'what's going on? Do you have a number I could call to clear this up? You know me and we both know this has to be some kind of mistake.' He then pulled a piece paper from his pocket and handed it to me saying, 'I knew you'd ask about this and I want you to know it's confusing for me as well, because I received no answer when I asked the corporate office 'can you tell me why this is happening? I know this customer and can't think of any reason why this should happen!' To make a long story short, the corporate office offered no reason whatsoever for taking this action, instead they told me, 'we're not even allowed to speak to you on the telephone.' So there you have my story, I spent tens of thousands of dollars in this establishment only to one day be removed from the premises with absolutely no explanation or idea why this occurred. And with no answers forthcoming I've moved on and I actually found I'd been spending far too much money in this store. Now I go someplace else where the faces are different, the prices are lower and it’s even more convenient. Despite these facts; I feel Walgreens failed America on that day. Was this what living in the USSR during the Cold War was like? Everything was secret, senseless and people just followed orders to survive. They asked me to leave and I will never shop Walgreens again. One day they will tear this store down. Let me assure you; I'll be present with my camera and a smile on my face. Because change is inevitable.
